What is social media marketing? You have to set a goal for your marketing campaign. One thing is brand awareness, this makes people know the thing that you have created. Engagement allows you to get feedback and a customer base. Sales, in the long run you want to create a bigger customer base.  Different platforms. Tailor it for the different platforms, Facebook is unprofessional and friends, personal. LinkedIn is professional, impersonal, job. Twitter is for brand and celebrity engagement, games, challenges, simple, public interactment. Snapchat is temporary, filters are interactment. Instagram is about engagement, tutorials, etc. YouTube is for creating a fanbase, monetary gain, is an in-between social media, has to be used in conjunction with other ones.  Context images> text interactive/links videos are shareable. Link to specific site and specific area, make sure it’s not too wide of a range. Create it to be specified so people know exactly what you want from them.

Research into some campaigns

Research into clever media campaign.  1.       NCT 127 comeback timer- The band for one of their comeback albums they set up a website that showed a 48 hour timer, this was counting down to the time when the song would be released. This came alongside the photoshoot that they released. This whole campaign created a buzz around the comeback as it was new and interesting, it also drew attention as it was one of the first groups to do this idea. It made people pay attention to the group and boosted their social media engagement.  2.       Spotify wrap ups- This is where the music streaming platform, creates a list of their users most listened to tracks from the year. Brief

Design specialism The first 6 weeks we play around and learn new things, then the other 6 weeks we specialise the project. It is like creative play, so we can play around and find new things that we like and don’t like.  Weeks 1 & 2 - Digital marketing and social media campaigns.  Week 3 & 4 - Motion and animation- working with Alex, doing motion stuff. Week 5 & 6-  Web design- design for digital screens, theory about it, looking at examples, activities.  Week 7-12 - Self-directed specialised production. We pick one area and specialise in it.  Choose something that you haven’t done very much but want to do more for.  Personal project (50%) Final digital deliverables and documentation process.  We have to have a personal blog, where we log what we learnt in the first 6 weeks.
