What is social media marketing?

You have to set a goal for your marketing campaign. One thing is brand awareness, this makes people know the thing that you have created. Engagement allows you to get feedback and a customer base. Sales, in the long run you want to create a bigger customer base.

Different platforms. Tailor it for the different platforms, Facebook is unprofessional and friends, personal. LinkedIn is professional, impersonal, job. Twitter is for brand and celebrity engagement, games, challenges, simple, public interactment. Snapchat is temporary, filters are interactment. Instagram is about engagement, tutorials, etc. YouTube is for creating a fanbase, monetary gain, is an in-between social media, has to be used in conjunction with other ones.

Context images> text interactive/links videos are shareable. Link to specific site and specific area, make sure it’s not too wide of a range. Create it to be specified so people know exactly what you want from them. Getting people to interact helps them to feel involved and creates more engagement of the site. You can create trackable links; this allows you to see your demographics. Videos are important at the moment, tutorials, people don’t want to read things anymore. Make them short and easy to watch, such as vines or tiktoks, they’re so short, allows people to be engaged the whole way though.

Planning- Timing is everything, generally between certain times people will be on their phones, then they are more likely to see your post. You have to think about when people are going to see it, so most people will be on their phone when they are at home. The more you post then the more you are going to be boosted. Frequency is really important as well, so if you post multiple times daily then you will have your posts be diluted. You can create targeted ads, this will allow you to specify exactly who you want to see your posts, and for how long it is going to be shown.

Publishing- Scheduling posts, look into when to post, create a timeline of posts, can set up posts to post automatically on certain days. Approval, there are rules to what can be shown in certain ads, you have to ensure that it is right to show online, you also need to justify the ad to your client.

Listening- Collecting the data, what was the return, did the links bring in people, analyse the data. This is to justify to the client how the campaign has worked. Then use the data to create a future plan.
